CV for customer service jobs (with examples)

How to write a customer service CV: the skills employers look for, real example bullet points, and how to pass ATS keyword filters.

Lead with the skills employers scan for

Customer service recruiters look for a predictable set of words: communication, problem solving, conflict resolution, patience, teamwork and experience with customers — in person, on the phone or in chat. Use the exact terms from the job ad for skills you genuinely have.

Show numbers where you can

"Handled 60+ customer calls per day" or "maintained a 95% satisfaction score" is far stronger than "good with customers". Only use numbers that are true — a rough honest figure is fine ("around 50 calls a day").

Describe results, not tasks

Instead of "answered the phone", write "resolved billing questions on the first call, reducing escalations". Show the outcome of what you did.

Example bullets you can adapt

"Handled an average of 80 customer chats per day with a 4.7/5 satisfaction rating."

"Calmed upset customers and resolved complaints on the first contact in 9 out of 10 cases."

"Trained 4 new colleagues on the ticketing system and phone routines."

Include a short profile at the top

Two sentences: who you are, your experience with customers, and the role you want. This is the first thing both the recruiter and the ATS read.

List systems and languages

Name the tools you have used (Zendesk, Salesforce, cash registers, booking systems) and your languages with levels. In customer-facing jobs, languages are a real selling point.
